Description

Tentative date: Saturday, June 20, 2026
Location: TBD
Format: TBD, one-day or two-day depending on interest

This is a tentative community event meant to gauge interest in organizing a CPR and first aid certification day for Longevity Montréal.

When we talk about longevity, we usually think about routines, food, exercise, sleep, and prevention. But another important part of health is knowing how to respond when something goes wrong. CPR and first aid training give people practical skills that can make a real difference in an emergency. That matters not only for our own preparedness, but also for our ability to care for others.

The idea here is to organize a group training with a certified provider in Montréal. Depending on interest, this could take one of two forms:

  • a one-day format, focused on emergency first aid and CPR
  • a two-day format, for those who want the fuller standard first aid certification

Based on the example providers we’ve reviewed, one-day emergency first aid and CPR Level C courses are commonly listed at 8 hours, while standard first aid and CPR Level C courses are commonly listed at 16 hours. CPR Level C on its own is also often offered as a shorter standalone certification, and example providers note that certifications are generally valid for 3 years. Some Montréal providers also offer hybrid formats and private group bookings.

Nothing is locked in yet. This page is here to put the idea on the calendar, measure interest, and begin discussions with the medical professionals and trainers in our network so we can determine the best format, location, and provider. The goal is to make this accessible, useful, and potentially repeatable as a recurring community offering.

What this could include

• CPR fundamentals
• AED use
• Choking response
• Basic emergency response protocols
• A more complete first aid certification path for those who want to go deeper
• The possibility of making this a recurring certification / recertification activity within the community

Why this fits Longevity Montréal

This is longevity in a broader sense. Not just optimizing your own body, but increasing your capacity to respond, support, and protect when it matters. It is a way of becoming more capable, more prepared, and more useful to the people around you.

Current status

This event is interest-based and provisional. We are currently exploring:

• one-day versus two-day format
• provider options in Montréal
• pricing and group rates
• whether enough members are interested to justify organizing it as a dedicated group booking
